In plain wordsTechnical detail
| Stored in | Details | Why | Kept for | Schedule row |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| challenges_teams | name, blurb, lead_member_id, looking, dq_reason | The name and short note of a team you started or joined for a sponsored project. Signed-in students can see them while the project is open, and the team name goes on your findings once they are published. | A team whose findings were never published is deleted 12 months after the project ends. A team with published findings stays with its findings. | Row E44 |
| challenges_members | member_id, role, credit, rules_version, rules_ack_at | That you are on a team, whether you lead it, whether you chose to be named on its findings and next to a win, and when you agreed to the official rules. | Deleted when you leave the team, when the team is deleted, or when you delete your account. Your name stays off public pages unless you ticked the box to be credited, and it comes off when you delete your account. | Row E45 |
| challenges_asks | member_id, message, kind, state | A request to join a team, with the line you wrote to the team lead, or an invitation to you. | Deleted 12 months after it is answered or taken back, when the team is deleted, or when you delete your account. | Row E46 |
| challenges_submissions | title, summary, body, links_json, ack_by, licence, ack_at | Your team's findings for a sponsored project, and the record that the team lead agreed to license them under CC BY 4.0. They are published on the project page according to the project's rule. | Published findings stay on the project page under the licence. A draft or withdrawn finding is deleted 12 months after the project ends. When you delete your account your name is taken off the credit, and the findings stay. | Row E47 |
| challenges_hides | member_id, project_id, kind | That you put the home page banner for a sponsored project away, for now or for good. | Deleted 30 days after the project ends, or when you delete your account. | Row E48 |
| challenges_projects | contact_name, contact_sealed, prize_contact, inquiry_ref | The name and email address of the person at a sponsor who gets the private link to pick winners, and the line winners are told for arranging a prize. The address is sealed, so it is not stored in a readable form. This is about people at sponsors, not members. | Cleared 12 months after the project ends. | Row E49 |
