Study sessions

About study sessions

Study sessions are study or advice sessions that members run for each other, at a set time, in a study room.

What a session is

A member picks a time, says what the session is for and how many seats it has. People save a seat. At the start time everyone goes into the same study room and sits at the host's table.

Who can host

Any member in good standing. Hosting is voluntary and unpaid, and you can stop whenever you like.

What a host can and cannot do

A host can call off their own session and set its topic line in the room. A host cannot remove, mute or approve anyone, and sees no more of a guest than any member does. Everyone can report anything.

What a host receives

A line on their Record, counted by Tillyard from the study rooms' own logs once enough sessions have met. Hosts and guests get no pay, gifts or early access.

If you post about Tillyard

If you host as a volunteer and post about it, say so in the post. For example: I volunteer with Tillyard. Do not use a college's name, logo or mailing lists for a session unless the college has said you may.
